June 2025 Conference Preview
We’re officially kicking off our next Career Conference this Friday, and I couldn’t be more excited to share the June 2025 Conference Preview with you. This event is a big step for a group of outstanding Junior Military Officers (JMOs) who are ready to start exciting new careers in business.
These officers haven’t left anything to chance. Over the last 11 months, they have worked hard to prepare through our Development and Preparation Program (DPP). Because of this effort, the Conference is more than just a job fair. It’s the result of strong, focused training that helps JMOs move from leading in the military to leading in business.
What Preparation Looks Like
So, what kind of preparation does it take?
Each JMO follows a clear step-by-step plan. This plan matches their goals and timeline. Their preparation includes:
-
Watching the Military-to-Business Transition Webcast
-
Completing a Personal Marketability Assessment
-
Practicing Honest Self-Reflection
-
Building Self-Awareness
-
Taking Part in Leadership Coaching
-
Researching Career Fields
-
Learning Key Business Skills
-
Doing Interview Practice and Mock Interviews
-
Meeting Weekly in Study Groups
-
Speaking with Alumni to Learn from Experience
-
Getting One-on-One Coaching with Joel Junker and me
-
Writing a Strong, Professional Resume
Altogether, these steps build confidence and real results.
Career Conference vs. Job Fair
At first, this event might sound like a job fair. But it’s very different.
The Career Conference lasts four and a half days. It usually happens 45 to 60 days before a JMO’s Terminal Leave. Unlike a job fair, JMOs go straight into interviews with real companies.
During the event, they speak with Hiring Managers and Senior Leaders from top companies across the country. The goal is to earn a “yes” in these first-round interviews. Afterward, candidates travel across the country for follow-up interviews. In short, this is where the hard work begins to pay off.

Thinking About a Transition in 2025, 2026, or 2027?
No matter where you are in your journey, now is a great time to start planning. Some officers begin two years out. Others begin just a few months before they transition. Either way, we can help.
Planning a career change can feel overwhelming. There’s a lot of information, and it can be hard to know where to start.
That’s where we come in.
Cameron-Brooks has helped thousands of JMOs make the move from the military to business. With over 50 years of experience, we’ve built a proven path. If you want to learn more about your marketability, the DPP, or your options, just reach out. I’d love to connect.
Post-Conference Recap Coming Soon
Finally, we’ll share a full recap in July. It will include highlights from the Conference and stories from our newest alumni. Stay tuned! You won’t want to miss it!
