June 2015 Career Conference Results

The Cameron-Brooks team and the June Career Conference Candidates and companies have all arrived home safely from Charlotte, NC, with some of us dodging tropical storms along the way!  54 candidates , 17 spouses/support team members, and over 30 companies were in attendance.  The candidates averaged 13 interviews and over 700 interviews were conducted at the Conference on Monday and Tuesday!  As a group,  the pursuit rate was 62%, with the pursuit rate defined as the number of interviews in which the candidates achieved success divided by the total number of their interviews.   Achieving success in an interview at the Career Conference simply means the companies expressed interest in moving forward in the interview process with the candidate.  MLW

We had 22 Cameron-Brooks alumnus in attendance recruiting on behalf of their companies with the vast majority of the recruiters being hiring managers.  Some examples of job titles of the recruiters in attendance were Executive Director of Operations, General Manager, Division President, Plant Operations Manager, Vice President of National Programs, Regional Sales Director, National Vice President of Sales, Innovation Program Director, Director of Strategy, Director of Engineering, Vice President of Western Region Operations, Director of Brand Management, etc. Because the recruiters represented are predominantly hiring managers, the interview process for the candidates proceeds very quickly for the candidates with an average of just 18 working days to conduct follow up interviews and receive offers.  As I type this blog post, we already have candidates flying across the country conducting follow-up interviews.

Whether you are merely contemplating a transition from military to business or are preparing for your transition, it is a great time to start setting goals, gather research and develop a plan of action and begin working on your business communication skills.  Cameron-Brooks recruiters will be traveling to Tacoma, WA; Jacksonville, NC; Dayton, OH; Watertown, NY; Washington D.C; Jacksonville, FL; Groton, CT; Savannah, GA; and Columbus, GA.  in the next six weeks.  If you cannot make one of these visits, we also offer live and recorded Webcasts on, “Considering a Business Career?  What You Should Know,” and we can conduct phone and Skype Video personal sessions.  Take control of your career, set a goal, develop a plan of action, prepare, and when you do you will reduce the variability in your results and reach your goals.

We are excited for all of the June Career Conference candidates and their families as they take their next steps to launch their business careers!.  If you’d like to hear from some Cameron-Brooks candidates sharing their thoughts on their experience, I’ve included the link to the Cameron-Brooks YouTube channel below.
