April Career Conference Results

The April 2021 Career Conference is now complete and we are quickly ramping up for the follow-up interview process!  The Conference was conducted virtually (our 6th virtual conference now) but we look forward to the time when we can return to in-person Conferences.  So, we want to give a very sincere and heartfelt thank you to all of the Candidates and Client Companies who decided to partner with us as they launch new careers and add strong leadership talent to their organizations.

So what were the statistics?

We had 48 candidates, 35 distinct companies, and 46 different hiring groups as multiple companies had multiple divisions attend.  Five companies were brand new to working with Cameron-Brooks.  What was most notable? The initiative to find top JMO talent through Cameron-Brooks was largely sponsored by C-level executives that were either a C-B alumnus or had heard about Cameron-Brooks by way of an alum.

The candidates conducted over 535 interviews with an average of 11.2 interviews per candidate!   I mentioned on the January 2021 Conference blog post that we had one of the highest pursuit rates (69%) since 2013.

“Pursuit rate” is defined as the number of interviews in which the candidates achieved success divided by the total number of their interviews. “Achieving success” in an interview at the Career Conference simply means the companies expressed interest in moving forward with the candidate.  Well, the pursuit rate for our April Conference was 72%, exceeding the January Conference. And, it’s the highest pursuit rate I’ve seen during my time at Cameron-Brooks (I’m going on my 11th year).

So, we are off to a great start in helping our candidates with their career transition and pivot from successful military leader to successful business leader.  For the next three weeks, the candidates will be involved in the follow up interview process based on mutual interest from the Conference.

On April 22nd, my colleague, Joel Junker, will conduct an April post-Career Conference webcast that will include several of the April Conference candidates. Our alumni will share their experiences, recommendations, and answer your questions.  You can register for the webcast here.
