The April 2015 Career Conference Results

The Cameron-Brooks team and all of the April Candidates just traveled back this week after a very successful Career Conference in Kansas City, MO.  53 candidates , 21 spouses/support team members, and over 30 companies attended and nearly 700 interviews were conducted at the Conference with an average of 13 interviews per candidate.  As a group,1660911_10152884559298366_827174651136110979_n the pursuit rate was 63+%, with the pursuit rate defined as the number of interviews in which the candidates achieved success divided by the total number of their interviews.   Achieving success in an interview at the Career Conference simply means the companies expressed interest in moving forward in the interview process with the candidate.

The companies ranged in size from a small 20 person business continuity consulting firm to some of the largest Fortune 500 companies with over 100,000 employees.  Some of the companies in attendance we have worked with for over 30 years and there were also six new companies in attendance as well.  Twenty-three alumnus attended recruiting on behalf of their companies and several were back recruiting to backfill their positions because they were being promoted.    Because the recruiters represented are predominantly hiring managers, the interview process moves very quickly and many candidates will start traveling as early as this Monday to begin their follow-up interviews!

Whether you are merely contemplating a transition from military to business or are preparing for your transition, it is a great time to start setting goals, gather research and develop a plan of action and begin working on your business communication skills.  Cameron-Brooks recruiters will be traveling to Washington D.C; Norfolk, VA; Colorado Springs, CO; Los Angeles, CA; San Diego, CA; Savannah, GA; Jacksonville, FL; Killeen, TX; Lawton, OK; Manhattan, KS; Fayetteville, NC; Groton, CT; and Honolulu, HI in the next two months.  If you cannot make one of these visits, we also offer live and recorded Webcasts on, “Considering a Business Career?  What You Should Know,” and we can conduct phone and Skype Video personal sessions.  Take control of your career, set a goal, develop a plan of action, prepare, and when you do you will reduce the variability in your results and reach your goals.

We feel very honored to partner with such high quality officers serving our country and we offer our congratulations to all of the April Conference candidates on their first step towards their new career in Corporate America.  If you’d like to hear from some of the April Candidates sharing their thoughts on their experience, I’ve included the link to the Cameron-Brooks YouTube channel below.
